Well done to our 6th year students who are preparing for their Hotel Catering and Tourism practical cookery exam. They will cook dishes and complete a written evaluation under a 2 hr time constraint in early May. This is worth 50% of their overall HCT grade.

Our 3rd year Home Economics students are practicing hard for their practical cookery exams. Keep up the great work over the next few weeks.

Our First year Home Economics students were busy baking Valentines treats this week. We had 3 groups of winners - Macey and Roxie, Alina and Rebekah, Conor and Max, Piotr and Evan were joined 3rd. Well done to all of the students who made a huge effort and were so creative.

3E put a lovely mural together during religion class this week. Interfaith is an important topic for the junior cert religion  mock exam. So as part of our revision away from the books we came together to highlight the importance of communication and community.

Well done to our 3rd year Home Economics students who were exploring different desserts this week- roulades, brownies and Bakewell tarts were on offer. They mastered pastry, working with egg whites and chocolate-all skills which can be used for their Junior Cycle Exam.

Our school is becoming more sustainable while also brightening up the grounds as instead of sending old, unused school lockers to landfill, we are upcycling them into colourful benches and flower containers. Our aim is to show how the circular economy works in real life!

Congratulations to our teams who won the Overall and Runner Up Awards today at the DCU Climate Talk Showcase with their films tackling Climate change effects and possible solutions. They also won two Peer Review Awards and equipment for our school. @dublincityuniversity

Our European Parliament Ambassador Programme Junior Ambassadors, Holly Cahill, Kate McAuley, Lucey Browne and Katie Duignan recently welcomed visiting Belgian teacher, Elisa, to our school and answered her questions about the Irish school system.
