Out fishing on Lake Nipissing and I caught (and released) my first Freshwater Drum (Aplodinotus grunniens) today. It puts up a pretty good fight. Pretty cool species!

@Race2Extinct Agreed! We've become so disconnected from our wild nature, it seems many of us don't even realize what we're losing.

@CPLF88 Even worse is the blindness to the destruction of the very environment that supports the existence of all life on our planet……including us.

@Race2Extinct Definitely. In more modern times, as our populations grow and our societies become more dependent on the technologies and systems that are in place, forgetfulness of the "old ways" that made us successful makes us vulnerable to different kinds of decline and collapse.

@CPLF88 In some ways, it seems to be genetically programmed for survival. It may have been an evolutionary advantage for millions of years, but more recently has become a liability.

@Canada Eagle Lake in Dryden and Lake Nipissing in North Bay are two of my favourites. Lake Superior is quite awesome as well (love the Agawa Bay area).

@Race2Extinct Sounds like the creator of the video lacks a basic understanding of the concepts and issues they talk about. I can't get into using YouTube for much more than music videos unless I know exactly what I'm looking for. There's just too much junk to sift through.

@DiaryofaSickGrl I've been told that I do on a few occasions. The one time that comes to mind is when I was apparently talking about how I didn't want soup for dinner lol... Kind of a weird thing to dream about... I didn't remember it when I woke up though.

After a change in my living situation and doing some heavy reading, I am feeling very inspired and ready to create. I have begun working on what will eventually become my magnum opus. It will take some time to complete and be a lot of work, but I am more than up to the task.
