Excellent opportunity for young scientist to carried out of their PhD with the support of la Caixa fellowship (ibecbarcelona.eu/careers-at-ibe…). @CREmmeneggerLab, and @vanhest_lab opened a project to develop synthetic cells that can prevent infections by "talking" to bacteria.

This new paper shows that the strength of a polymer network is set by sequential breaking of a small fraction of bonds, which are not localized around a crack but are distributed throughout the network.
