Yesterday I was out on the Shropshire Union at Church Eaton A dry day for a change even if finding roads to site not flooded was a challenge. @CRTWestMidlands

I think I picked the only dry day yesterday out on the Leeds and Liverpool at Rishton. I love the upland sections of the Leeds & Liverpool when the weather is nice and we haven’t had much of that lately. @CRTNorthWest

Yesterday I was out on the Trent and Mersey at Dutton. Been over 12 years since I was last on this offside Embankment. Picked a great day too. @CRTNorthWest

Earlier this week I was back on the northern reaches of the Lancaster canal. It’s a great section of canal to explore. The views are beautiful. @CRTNorthWest

This week saw me on the Northern Reaches of the Lancaster Canal. I think I blinked and missed autumn on that site day! @CRTNorthWest

Today in partnership with @WalsallCouncil we launched our new litter boat for the #Walsall Canal. ‘Sister Dora’ will help keep the canal litter free thanks to funding from the Community Regeneration Partnership Fund for #Walsall Town Centre.

Passed one my favourite embankments today whilst on a cutting inspections on the Grand Union. There are not many embankments with meadow grass on them around the network. Makes for an easier inspection i can tell you. @CRTWestMidlands

#StormAmy hit hard, but our teams resolved most navigation & towpath closures within 48 hours. More than 50 trees came down in total across the network. Some sites remain under review for further clearance or follow-up works - Please keep an eye on our notices pages for updates.

Yesterday I was out at Sowerby Bridge on the Rochdale inspecting one of our embankments and dodging the downpours too. Another embankment new to me but what a great location and town @CRTYorkshireNE

Remembering the day we renamed a bridge along the canal in #Birmingham after the iconic band @BlackSabbath. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of @OzzyOsbourne at this sad time.

We cleared the carpet of duckweed from Stourport Basin #Worcester removing 80 tonnes of the weed from the canal. In some places it was 5 inches thick! @ExpressandStar @ITVCentral The canal is looking much better! The weed has been sent to be composted.

The Looping Boat by Alex Chinneck is a tribute to Sheffield’s industrial past ⚙️ Based between Lock 4 & 5 on the Sheffield & Tinsley Canal, the sculpture is adorned with ‘The Industry’, named after the first boat to navigate the canal in 1819, as well as an iconic Tudor Rose.
