While the article focuses on showing love to your parents while they are still here, we also need to think about our relationships with our families, friends, and co-workers as well, as we never know when we will lose a friend like Chief DiGiovanna. csfa.net/seasons-of-bec…

Building Tomorrow’s Firefighters: SBCoFD Explorers Compete at CSFA Explorer Muster The San Bernardino County Fire Protection District (SBCoFD) Explorer Post proudly represented the department at the 2nd Annual California State Firefighters’ Association (CSFA) Explorer Muster, held last month in Riverside, California. This wonderful event brought together 29 Explorer programs from across the state to participate in hands-on firefighting drills and team-building exercises. The Explorer Muster is designed to test and develop the skills of young aspiring firefighters through various fire service evolutions, promoting teamwork, discipline, and firefighting fundamentals. Participants took part in multiple competitive events that challenged their knowledge, physical ability, and problem-solving skills, all essential qualities for a future in the fire service. The SBCoFD Explorer Program offers young men and women between the ages of 14 and 21 a firsthand look into the life of a firefighter. With active Explorer Posts in Fontana, Upland, the North Desert, and the South Desert, the program provides invaluable hands-on experience and mentorship from professional firefighters. It serves as a stepping stone to entry-level positions within the fire service, helping Explorers build a foundation for careers as firefighters, paramedics, and other emergency responders. For more information on how to join the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District Explorer Program, visit sbcfire.org/fire-explorers/ or call (909) 387-5974.
