An umbrella MoU under Research & Innovation Consortium Hive (RICH-NE) has been signed, bringing together 19 leading institutions to foster collaborative research, shared infrastructure, and innovation-driven growth.

Key highlight were signing of MoU under RICH-NE 19 institutions to strengthen collaboration, release of CSIR-NEIST Highlights 2025–26, felicitation of dedicated staff, launch of the new website &Open Day inviting the public to experience the institute’s scientific journey.

The event featured distinguished former Directors Dr. PG Rao, as Chief Guest and Dr. D Ramaiah and Dr. GN Sastry as Guests of Honour, inspiring reflections on the institute’s rich legacy and contributions to science and society.

CSIR–NEIST celebrated its 66th Foundation Day on 18 March 2026 with great pride and enthusiasm. Director, Dr. Virendra M. Tiwari highlighted the institute’s strong commitment to scientific excellence, its impactful research output.

The 7th session of the NEIST–NEXUS Lecture Series (13March26) featured Dr. Sandeep K. Dey, who delivered a lecture on Noncovalent Organic Frameworks (NCOFs) and their potential as lightweight, porous materials for applications such as gas storage, particularly hydrogen storage

The 7th session of the NEIST–NEXUS Weekly Lecture Series (06 March 2026) featured Dr. Rinku Baishya, who delivered a lecture on harnessing Northeast India’s ethnic bioresources for the discovery of bioactive phytochemicals and their potential applications.

The 6th session of the NEIST–NEXUS Weekly Lecture Series (27 February 2026) featured Dr. Srinivas Ambala, who delivered a lecture on strategic C–H activation approaches enabling efficient C–C and C–N bond formation.

Congrats to Dr P Bharali for receiving A P Das Biodiversity Medal Award for contribution in understanding Taxonomic aspects of Different Angiospermic Plants of NE Himalaya from East Himalayan Society for Spermatophyte Taxonomy in the XIX Annual Conf. of EHSST at Calcutta Univ.

Happy to share that Ms Anjali Hazarika, P. Assistant working under Dr. Pankaj Bharali, awarded the Best Poster Presenter award in the Two days National Workshop on Emerging Diseases in North East India: A Data Driven One Health Approach ( EDNEIHA-2026), held at Tezpur Univ .

The Special Guest, Binita Pathak, Associate Professor, Department of Physics, Dibrugarh University, shared perspectives from her research in atmospheric sciences, particularly in climatology and atmospheric physics.

The Chief Guest, Anil Bhardwaj, Distinguished Professor and Director of the Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), addressed the gathering on achievements of India’s lunar missions, and future lunar exploration plans.

National Science Day was celebrated on 27 February 2026 at CSIR-North East Institute of Science & Technology with participation from scientists, researchers, and students, including participants from Kaziranga University.
