@dilipkjena #HealthyFaithChat A7 Jesus is saying he is God who instituted (and changed) the Sabbath. He is the only one who can provide true rest which we must strive to enter (Heb 4:11). We rest from trying to earn our salvation & strive to enter through faith + obedience.

@dilipkjena #HealthyFaithChat A7 Jesus said to be yoked together with Him (doing work) and He will provide rest. It isn’t so must of doing nothing, but doing things With Jesus. Making the Sabbath holy or set apart by finding life WITH Jesus day to day, moment by moment.

#HealthyFaithChat A7. He did the work and brings us to His eternal rest. Hebrews talks all about this. There's also the "eighth day mystery," that after the first week of creation and a day of rest, the eighth day symbolizes a new week, a new beginning continuing from the completed work, pointing to this eternal rest, new creation, and new life in Christ as a new creature.

#HealthyFaithChat Last question Q7: Jesus says about himself that he was the lord of the Sabbath. How do you understand these words of Jesus about his nature? And how would keeping the Sabbath look like in light of your answer to the first question?

A7 #HealthyFaithChat He claims divine authority and reveals Himself as the ultimate fulfillment of the Sabbath. Rather than abolishing the day, He strips away legalistic burdens, reorienting the Sabbath toward grace, healing, and spiritual rest. The New Testament emphasizes that Sabbath observance is largely a matter of personal conviction and grace. You are free to observe it in a way that truly refreshes your soul and honors God, without judging others for their own convictions or practices.

@dilipkjena #HealthyFaithChat A7 Jesus is God. We commune with God by keeping Sabbath. Keeping Sabbath means disconnecting from the world and connecting with the kingdom we belong to, which is Jesus’. It always restores me. Once a week! Have cut corners on this recently and it shows.

A7 That He is God, the one who ordained the Sabbath in the first place. Jesus knew the intended purpose of the Sabbath, and corrected the Pharisees in their failed interpretation of the Sabbath. #HealthyFaithChat

Angry at the Pharisees lack of compassion, grieved that they knew about God but didn’t know Him, and used the Sabbath, meant as a gift to draw us to God, give life and refresh as bondage. #HealthyFaithChat

#HealthyFaithChat Q6: Jesus looked at the Pharisees "with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart" when he healed the man with the withered hand. Why was Jesus angry and grieved, and what does this reveal about Jesus's character?

@dilipkjena #HealthyfaithChat A1e Quod erat demonstrandum, Pharisees had power & wealth by kissing up to the Herodians and the Herodians enjoyed stability atop the Pharisees. Important with active rebellions. Win-win situation.

@dilipkjena A6 #HealthyFaithChat their hypocrisy was affecting others who followed them. Jesus knew the problems they were causing and the effect it had on his people. He also knew they had no love for this man. No love for neighbor shows they were in deep trouble.
