@TheBWDickerson Just keep querying. Once you hit 50 or so rejections, it might be worth looking over those first 10 pages, but then again, #51 might go for it.

Fellow authors, and like me aspiring authors question of the day. You send your book out for beta all feedback is positive. You spend hours researching agents, you query, not a fit, review the query. Still comes back not a fit. Where do you go from there? #WritingCommunity

@TheBWDickerson I’m of the mind that “not a fit for my list” is a boilerplated response we get when the work doesn’t light the agent/editor on fire. I bet your research is fine & it’s just a matter of taste. I’m always reminding myself I look at 10 books at the bookstore before choosing one.

I’ve had at least one “not a fit for my list” every day this week. I research agents carefully before querying, so I’m trying to understand what I can refine in my approach. Any insight from those further along the road would be appreciated. #amquerying #WritingCommunity
