As good as you might want to believe the Canucks did today. Teams in their division are ahead in the prospect pool & continuing to acquire more. This is an arms race & the Canucks are years behind. Can't just dust your hands off & think you did good its a long road ahead.

Flames have 6 1st-round picks and 8 2nd-round picks in the next 3 drafts. This doesn't even include the 4 1st-round picks they've made in the last 2 years. #Canucks deserve credit for finally starting to build a surplus of picks, but it goes to show there are levels to this

No. Didn't get a 1st-round pick. Didn't get a top prospect. Didn't trade Blueger. Light return on Garland. Glad they're rebuilding and stockpiling picks, they seem to now understand the exercise. But this was a critical deadline for the org and this mgmt group fell short.
