Maybe none of these assholes have anything to "teach us"! Maybe they just illustrate a whole history of dead ends, evil shit, and stupidities. To my mind that's a much more rigorous set of framing assumptions to take in to the enterprise

We all know the usual suspects of modernism. Woolf, Joyce, Pound, Eliot, Mann, Barnes, etc. But who do you think are the unsung needle-movers of literary modernism? Looking to flesh out that era of my reading.

Outsiders underestimate how pervasive the sexism female faculty face is: Male profs who are tough are serious, women are severe. Male profs who grade with leniency are kind, women who do are push-overs. I started TAing at 24 and became a prof at 28 and never once dealt with this.

Two books I’m *really* enjoying reading for research as I write my book. So thankful for the gift of First Nations / Indigenous decolonization & liberation theology.
