Today, Forensic Digital Expert for the prosecution, Shanon Burgess testified. Karen Read's attorney asked Burgess if his educational information on his company's website was correct. He correctly responded, No. How did Alessi know the information was incorrect? Because Burgess provided his CV that indicated he had not graduated with his BS degree yet. Who is to blame? Aperture! You see Aperture hired a company to set up their website. They forwarded the company information on their experts. Typically, experts don't look themselves up on their websites. They just don't. They give their CVs to their company and trust that they publish the information correctly. In this case, the words "in progress" should have been next to his information. It wasn't. Burgess isn't responsible for the mistake, but Aperture should correct it post-haste. In a perfect world, should Burgess have looked at the website, yes. My Admin makes me double-check mine with every update, but I have an amazing administrative assistant. Karen Read's linked in says she is still faculty at Bentley University. She isn't. Doesn't make her a liar. It just means she didn't update her account. The Defense loves to throw out diversions to distract from the data! Why? The data hurts the defense immensely. What was the Data? "His analysis shows the three-point turn occurred between 12:23:59 a.m. and 12:24:07 a.m.  The back-up maneuver occurred between 12:32:04 a.m. and 12:32:12 a.m. O’Keefe’s iPhone was locked for the last time during that timeframe at 12:32:09 a.m." This is what matters because the data can't be disputed. When the facts are bad, you say "Watch the Birdie" over here. The jurors will likely stick to facts, not distractions. If Burgess would have lied on his CV, we would have an issue.
