Today the CT Commuter Rail Council transitions to the Connecticut Public Transportation Council and adds bus commuting to our charge. This transition will take time. Many things to work through; new bus members, website, social media, logo, dual advocacy, etc. We’ll get there.

Steady service builds ridership. The Waterbury branch received a 44% increase in service and ridership responded. They are now at 144% of the pre-COVID ridership !! It’s time to do the same for the Shore Line East. @shorelineeast @SLERadvocacy

The Waterbury branch ended 2026 147.40% higher than their pre-COVID numbers & 33.4% higher than their ridership numbers from 2025. Both numbers exceed all other branches & lines by a wide margin. That’s what happens when you increase service. Steady service builds ridership.
