Through everything that Greg said or did in time at Creighton, it was always so evident how much he cared for his players.
The SDSU locker room moment is a great example. Another came after Creighton got beat by Baylor in the NCAAT in 2014:

On a personal level:
Coach Mac is the only Head Coach to make time to join us on the Big East Barroom podcast
When we travelled out to Omaha he found us, stopped to talk and gave us a big hug
A great man who happens to be an X's and O's savant. College basketball will miss him

Greg McDermott is retiring after this season, with coach-in-waiting Alan Huss set to take over. Huss left High Point last spring after winning 56 games in 2 seasons.
McDermott made 10 NCAA tournament appearances with Creighton, winning at least one game in each of the last five.

Where it stands now I have Villanova's Kevin Willard as Big East Coach of the Year
Inherited a program in disarray. Had to create a roster from scratch.
And he's on the cusp of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since Jay Wright's retirement. Incredible coaching job.
