I'm based in France, but 43% of my audience is American.
I know many of us are in the same situation. To reach a wider audience, all my posts are in English, the international language.
Those who cause trouble may be punished, but with this change, which will significantly reduce our earnings, you're also penalizing a number of accounts that use the international language without any ill intent.
X tells us that videos and new, high-quality content will be prioritized, but this change will, on the contrary, drastically reduce our earnings.
Is there any way to reverse this decision, please?🥺

Starting Thursday, we'll be updating our revenue sharing incentives to better reward the content we want on X: We will be giving more weight to impressions from your home region—to encourage content that resonates with people in your country, in neighboring countries and people who speak your language. While we appreciate everyone's opinion on American politics, we hope this will disincentivize gaming the attention of US or Japanese accounts and instead, drive diverse conversations on the platform. We invite creators to start building an audience locally. X will be a much richer community when there's relevant posts for people in all parts of the world.

@not_jacobin @dhh @folketinget I think it is many years of peace and comfort that allowed striving to much for idealism and forgetting pragmatism. Now, it is like turning a container ship - it takes time. In my opinion it has become way to bureaucratic and, well, process people are going to make processes.

@dhh @folketinget As an American, I'd feel the same way in your shoes. Denmark clearly has the engineering talent. Do you think the answer is policy driven? Like taxes and incentives for domestic cloud?

@dhh @folketinget Ligesom når man leger at EU data boundary faktisk gør at f.eks. Microsoft ikke udleverer data, hvis det opbevares på europæisk jord 😆 Men der er da helt sikkert bruge VIRKELIGT mange penge og laaaaang tid på at skrive den.

@stephc_int13 I'm still saying that is a failure. Just give me a proper programming language rather than stupid shell scripts. Python/Lua/whatever are much better tools for this job, even in the CLI.

Cold Take: The Unix Philosophy of Software Design was a failure.
Monolithic programs are much better in every regard.
The philosophy makes _some_ sense at the level of a procedure, but not at the level of a program.

@Aron_Adler Yes. I like to read about stoicism and pursue a modern version of it, plenty of good resources on it. It is sort of life philosophy. Helps me to decide where to spend my energy and what I should *try* to just let be.

@CThuleHansen @Aron_Adler Doesn’t sledgehammer convert it to a simpler form then throw and SMT at it and then find what rules were helpful and then try using them with auto or similar? It’s been over a decade though so I’m probably rusty and it could well have changed.

There is an annoyance some people using Odin have where they don't want to use the MSVC toolchain on Windows but rather use MinGW. These being the two main toolchains for C/C++ development on Windows.
There is a reason Odin uses MSVC and NOT the MinGW toolchain...

@dhh For mange til at snakke om løsninger og for få der bare “går igang” med at løse det. Det kræver mod at “gå igang”, fordi du uundgåeligt kommer til at træffe uperfekte beslutninger, og så skal skylden placeres. Du har ryggen fri ved at blive ved snakken 🤦♂️🤷

De er først og fremmest forretningskvinder. De tjener penge på din og min opmærksomhed, og lokker os til med let sælgelige budskaber om alt andet end de produkter, de lejlighedsvis også reklamerer for.
