Only his 2nd year of playing football! Unbelievable growth in that time!

Athletes who don’t train, tend to peak earlier in their career. Most likely because their relative strength diminishes over time as they get larger/older but not significantly stronger I see this a lot at the H.S. Level. Stud Freshman gets no better and even worse as they age.
