Castro Valley Sanitary District was established on July 25, 1939, to build a modern sewer system to replace the patchwork of septic tanks that served Castro Valley. The first CVSan Board Meeting was held in a Fire Station on Castro Valley Boulevard that no longer exists today.

Congrats CVSan GM Roland Williams for being appointed as Secretary of the California Sanitation Risk Management Authority. GM Williams will help CSRMA members reduce the risk of loss, maintain fiscal responsibility, ensure employee safety, and protect public resources. #CVSan

9,420 pounds of textiles were collected and diverted from the landfill during Castro Valley Sanitary District’s June Textile Collection Week between June 5th – 9th! The next Textile Collection Week will take place the week of October 2nd – 6th on your regular collection day.
