Never been a fan of Dharmendra Pradhan, especially after the UGC regulations mess under his watch. Regarding the NEET, I repeatedly posted that he should've resigned back then only. Taking accountability at that moment would have actually carried moral weight. Resigning now, however, is a major L. His own resignation letter doesn't state that he is stepping down due to a failure of responsibility; instead, it claims he is resigning so that "anti-national forces don't take advantage of the situation." What is that if not a confession of helplessness in the face of chaos? If the narrative is that he stepped down to prevent opportunistic elements from exploiting the protests, what does that say about the govt? What is the point of being in power for years if anarchists still hijack and dictate terms to you on national issues? The right approach even now would have been to keep crack down on opportunists, while simultaneously inviting "only the actual students" to a live telecasted open forum in a major auditorium, acknowledge responsibility directly, announce a resignation, and reassure them that the new leadership will fix the system. Bowing down to pressure only encourages lawlessness. Sure, you might buy a brief breathing room as this protest winds down, but you’ve given agitators another taste of success. They will be back, stronger next time. Hope you’re prepared.

As these protests are resolved, India must: - Ban social media for under 13 - Moderate social media for under 18 - Regulate social media companies - Mandate a reporting tool under every post to GoI - Setup a SM/M monitoring & response cell - Study & research social media trends & Algo - Take up propaganda on state media with countries - Take up anti-Indian SM psyops with partners - Monitor and control "finfluencers" farms - Start units that can counter the infowar on India And I hope India is using the current opportunity to study social media operations, organization, and algorithmic warfare of the adversaries on India. COCKROACH DIGITAL SANITATION CHECK One lesson I’ve learnt over the years: Never confuse virality with credibility. Whenever an account suddenly dominates public discourse, I look beyond the headlines and examine its digital footprint. Publicly visible observations: • Instagram: ~3.9 million followers • X: ~4.2 lakh followers • The publicly visible verified-followers section on X appears surprisingly ( suspiciously ) small (around 50 accounts) relative to the total follower count compared to the huge following . For example mine which is mere 1.4 K followers,majority is blue tick verified , Possibly over 1000 plus . X algo is tougher to manipulate hence this huge mismatch between X and Insta • The Instagram account dates back to 2014 but received verification only recently. None of these observations, by themselves, prove anything. But they do raise a simple question: Does the publicly visible digital footprint match the perceived influence or is it algorithmically manipulated esp on Instagram which is notorious for it. In the age of algorithmic amplification, digital due diligence is no longer optional but mandatory Trust. But Verify.
