As an aviation reporter in past I covered multiple air crashes. The propeller blades in attached pic are bent backward exactly in a way they do when spinning at high RPM during a crash impact. That’s textbook dynamic. It is downing damage not blowing up of static aircraft... Moreover, the image of the wreckage shows that the engine is lying on its right side because of aircraft, most probably, impacting the ground in a turn... Questions can be asked if the US was indeed able to get the men out... Nevertheless they incurred massive losses for a single operation - at least confirmed 2 C-130s and 2 helis... We stayed at a hotel and went to the free breakfast buffet. There's an omelet bar but the line is so long we just ignored it and served ourselves (bagels, fruit, yogurt, juice, etc). Imagine our surprise when we were halfway through eating and a staff member puts this on the table without a word and walks away. The "free" buffet "costs" $20 each but there's a "discount" because it's free. We seated ourselves, served ourselves, and cleaned up after ourselves. Why in the world would we leave a tip?
