Our NYPD officers put themselves on the line to protect us every day. It is never acceptable to throw anything at a police officer, full stop.

.@ParadeMagazine: There's one major preventable cancer risk that many don't think about: secondhand exposure.
Our experts warn that smoke and tobacco exposure (even secondhand) raises risk for cancer in the lungs, bladder, liver and more. 🚭 bit.ly/4atHvyB

I'm getting married at seventy-two and my daughter told me I'm wasting money on a wedding dress.
She stood in my kitchen with her arms crossed saying nobody expects anything fancy at my age, asking why I couldn't just wear something from my closet since this is my third marriage. What she doesn't know is my first wedding I was nineteen and pregnant, wore my mother's dress that smelled like storage. Second wedding I was forty-one and broken, courthouse in a beige suit because I'd stopped believing in romance. This time I want lace and crystals and to feel like hope isn't just for young women who don't know better yet.
Found this white gown on Poshmark for a hundred dollars and when I tried it on I didn't see the loose skin or the weight I can't lose anymore. Just saw a woman who survived two divorces and raised three kids alone and still believes love might work this time. Started adding light blue Swarovski crystals and custom applique using techniques from Tedooo app tutorials, sitting at my table with reading glasses slipping down my nose, proving to myself I'm still worth the effort.
Now I need help with hair because I refuse a veil at my age and every photo I find shows girls half my life younger. Posted in a Tedooo bridal group asking for advice and got flooded with responses from women in their sixties and seventies who wore fresh flowers or vintage combs, who stopped trying to look twenty-five and just looked beautiful instead. Found a maker on Tedooo selling delicate pearl hair pins, ordered them, tried them with my hair pulled back soft. My daughter saw me yesterday and cried, said I looked beautiful, apologized for making me feel like I didn't deserve this. I told her everyone deserves to feel beautiful at least once, even women with gray hair who've already made mistakes. Especially us.
