📣 So, are standardised diagnostic assessment tools useful in #CAMHS?  New 'STADIA' trial process evaluation of the Development & Wellbeing Assessment (DAWBA), interviewing 109 participants across 8 Trusts. Wide range of barriers & facilitators exist:👉 doi.org/10.1007/s00787…

Clinically-referred children and young people with high levels of mental health needs - 67% scored v. high for ≥1 emotional disorder, esp. depression or anxiety disorder.   But only 11% received a clinical diagnosis of an emotional disorder from CAMHS. doi.org/10.1111/jcpp.1…

Overdiagnosis? Seems timely to reshare... In CAMHS, little evidence of overdiagnosis of emotional disorders, rather the opposite - many children and young people with diagnosable mental health disorders not receiving a clinical diagnosis or timely help. doi.org/10.1111/jcpp.1…

Children spent 35,845 days away from home as a result of beds being unavailable in their local area. With family and friends having to travel so far, visiting becomes impossible, which only leaves unwell children feeling more isolated, lonely and can be harmful to their recovery
