I have a family member who has been in hospital for months now and is diabetic. The number of times they have been given meals and snacks like biscuits and other sugary foods that will actively worsen their condition... 🤦🏻

When a GF diet IS the treatment for coeliac disease, it scares me that coeliac patients are literally fed gluten in hospitals fairly frequently. That's like getting someone's medication wrong. I'd starve if I ever had to stay in hospital, there's no way I'd trust the food 🫣

@lesleypitman This is one of the reasons I'm so passionate about better support for students struggling with medical dietary requirements at University. I wasn't diagnosed when I attended Lancaster but I genuinely don't know how I'd have coped with both the cost and the ignorance 🫠

As more students are voting to make Universities plant based, I can't help but think of the students that - for whatever reason - don't have the privilege of choosing a plant based diet. All diets should be catered for. A little bit disappointed that my old University is next.
