Here’s an example of a Force Velocity Curve (which I don’t fully believe in) w/ Back Squat.
What’s interesting is how we bent the curve to improve his power development! In 16 weeks with a developed athlete he increased his strength by 50lbs & power by 1000w.
At the bottom you can see the Time To Peak Power. We didn’t get to it but the next step would have been to increase TTPP and hit the same amount of power (w) but quicker. How we would have developed TTPP .15-.25sec would have been using bands for accommodating resistance.

@CoachAVogel That’s what I was looking for… had a feeling you would have some great input!
Thank you!

@C_Chap_SC We are trying to put all of the qualities together. Eventually all reps should be in blue until they hit the threshold cutoff.

English

@BurnTheLadders What are you thoughts on guys who have “good” peak Velo but “poor” TPV?
English

I like to think of Time to Peak Velocity almost like Ground Contact Time. If I'm doing something to correlate to the longer contacts of jumping, change of direction, or acceleration then I like .35-.4s TPV. If I'm working on correlating to max velocity then I like .15-.20s.

With the rise of VBT popularity. There are a lot of conversations about Bar Speed and the ability to measure average and peak. One metric that I don’t see talked about often is- time to peak velocity. How many of you all track that metric? What do u do w/ it? How important?
English

@BurnTheLadders Thank you!
Thankful for coaches willing to engage and share.

@dormanstrength coach I’d love to hear your input on this because I saw where you were talking about utilizing Joe Kenn’s peak over avg and is what got me interested
English

@C_Chap_SC If they hit our KPIs on watts using set avg Peak Power then they would progress to Speed- TTPP…We add AR for 2 weeks. Week 3 they do 1set of bands and 2-3 sets without trying to set avg PP KPI at TTPP KPI.
English

@CoachAVogel Are you grouping guys based on the TPV or MS?
Are you applying AR to guys who have the faster TPV’s or slower?
English

@C_Chap_SC For the Speed group…That’s when we start using bands for accommodating resistance
English

@C_Chap_SC Yes sir! in season, O/S (Strength, Power, Speed) Freshmen start in Movement phase, we have Not got anyone to Capacity phase yet.
