@gamscout He’s still worth a pick somewhere especially for a team with many picks

@daeshikjr I think it’s okay to not listen to the guy who thought it was okay to bring loaded guns into a locker room.

Also he said teams in “small markets” like seattle cant price their tickets high but the kraken are in the top 5 for most expensive NHL game to attend. Gil doesn’t realize how expensive this city is lol someone buy this man a $20 banh mi and ask him again

Gil said Seattle’s market is too small and then proceeds to suggests Canada lol Seattle’s GDP ranks 10th in the nation
Gil’s Arena@GilsArenaShow

.@NoChillGilZero is skeptical on Seattle getting an NBA team again 😳 "Times have changed. Are you going to be able to afford your players?"

@Tequilla_UW Never said I was for or against this bill. It’s just silly to say that because of a tax it’s disingenuous to want a team in Seattle. The players will be fine.

@C_Ryle34 Can’t wait to see your tune change when the “revenue” coming in via that tax isn’t enough and the tax is extended to apply to all people And it will happen in the future

@dawg206 Especially when California is the layup. It’s not some trick question, everyone knows it’s big.

@PaydirtS @hawkblogger I agree and am not for drafting Coleman, but I don't think Charb is precluding you from drafting anyone if you like the player.

@hawkblogger He’s too slow. It’s a redundant pick in my opinion we already have charbs who is essentially the same player

@C_Ryle34 @AaronWilson_NFL It's a one year $12M deal with void years added for cap purposes. $3.4M cap hit in 2026, $8.6M cap hit in 2027 if he's not extended before the contract voids.

@Tequilla_UW @dawg206 So are you rescinding the word “crippling” because that was the origin of this conversation. I agree with these points you are making here.

@C_Ryle34 @dawg206 What I’m getting at is that it can become more difficult to build your roster when you’re less of a destination for players Seattle has had advantages via taxes and players keeping more of their contracts That advantage won’t be there so they will need to find other advantages

@Tequilla_UW @dawg206 Florida has overall pretty shitty sports teams and they have lots of things rich people look for and no income tax. It’s a factor, but it only moves the needle a little bit.

@C_Ryle34 @dawg206 The bigger takeaway is that if you’re in a heavily taxed location then you need some ancillary benefits working in your favor to counteract Might be team competitiveness Might be weather Might be nightlife That’s my point

@Tequilla_UW @dawg206 How is this proving that tax rate is “crippling”. Are you suggesting all of their struggles are as a result of that? You can find a similar teams in lesser taxed areas too

@C_Ryle34 @dawg206 It’s why I also used the Sabres as an example as this will be their 1st trip to the playoffs in 15 years or thereabouts For YEARS they’ve struggled to attract free agents and steadily been on players’ no trade lists Now that they’re winning that may slowly change

@Tequilla_UW @dawg206 This is ridiculous. You can use this as evidence if you want, but the Boston team has won a billion championships. Yes there are additional factors to why that happened. Winning without a great QB is rare regardless of tax level.

@C_Ryle34 @dawg206 Proximity of the team in NJ to NYC influences that significantly The team in Buffalo is tied to having a QB that makes winning a title realistic … how has that worked for its hockey team for the better part of 15 years?

@C_Ryle34 @dawg206 I can also argue that those locations would be viewed as more desirable for a player than WA At best WA would be viewed as comparable to MA

@nickkorte Seahawks have their original seven plus four comp picks currently, where’s the 12th pick coming from? Did they acquire a future pick I forgot about? What round?

What became apparent during free agency this year is how much teams covet draft picks for next year. The strategizing for the 2027 NFL draft already is underway. Cc @tyschmit. 🎧 open.spotify.com/episode/58OBUx…

@LO_Mariners If Italy scores 6+ they either win, or Mexico will have 5+ so how many runs Italy scores is irrelevant (other than, you know, more than Mexico ideally).
