Dorothy Counts integrated Harding High School in Charlotte, NC in 1957. The school was named for Harry Harding, the son of a Confederate army major. Dorothy had rocks and sticks thrown at her, was spat upon, jeered, heckled, ridiculed, called racial slur, abused and harassed by white students. They spit in her lunch, causing her father to have to pick her up to feed her each day. Her parents removed her from the school after four days when racist white students busted the windows of her father’s car. Dorothy is alive today. Racism is what she lived through in school. Yet we have white parents who don’t want their children to learn about what happened to her. Why is that? Because some of those white students are yet alive . They are grandmothers and grandfathers, aunties, and uncles, retired, cops, judges, and business owners. White parents don’t want their white children to know what their white grandparents did to Black people. And they don’t want them to know that it wasn’t ancient history, that it happened to people who are still living and breathing today.

This tweet is going to be unfortunately unpopular, but there is a war a coming and if so called White Americans expect Black Americans to help so called White Americans fight against Socialism here on American soil, then so called White Americans may want to stop being obstructionists regarding reparations, because when the chips are down, Black Americans have far better experience fighting for Freedom in America and in every single war engaged in around the world, since the American Revolutionary War. Now just let this sink in, because at the end of the day, it’s the Black American that has survived more wars, more obstacles, more injustices, more indignities and more attacks on its Negro people than any so called White American or any other ethnic group on American soil, since 1776.
