This week has seen slow methodical progress on rebuilding my office. Realized that putting down flooring first would be foolish, so insulation, drywall, texturing, baseboard removal, and paint were priority. Now onto flooring.

@svperfecta @CzarneckiD The 49” Samsung CRG9 Odyssey is 👩‍🍳. Normally I also have a 34” LG above it, but I’m ready to get my big monitor back. 😀

Back from my vacation to resume work on my flooded office. Tore up all the carpet right before I left on Wednesday. Tonight: removing trim that wasn’t destroyed by water and installing flooring.

@tenderlove You can use photogrammetry via your phone to get a fairly accurate 3D model and slice to 2D. Alternatively, take a piece of paper, cut a hole for the shifter, then use a pencil and rub the edges of the shifter to get a relief. Then take a top-down photo with a ruler in the shot

Does anyone know a good way to make an accurate 2d stl of a real world object? I want to model the collar around this shifter so I can make a case that fits it, but I'm having a hard time finding a way to get an accurate representation

Burst hose bib leaked water into my office wall. A whole lotta white noise in my office for a couple of days as industrial blowers and a dehumidifier drone on.

A week of staycation building out the basement with a Sunday bivalent booster resulted in yesterday being a foggy day ending in an almost 13 hour sleep.

Finished up the tortoise enclosure this morning, loaded it up with 12 cubic feet of soil, and Ivan is now loving the upgrade!

This afternoon’s project: assembling a new indoor enclosure for our tortoise. Made from cedar pickets.
