Met with a prospect yesterday.
At the end of the meeting, he says to Jen and I…
“wow, you two actually listened to me. The last people just stopped me short. The first thing they blurted out was, “It will be $4,000 and we will help you with a decumulation plan”
He shared very personal life details. Challenging dynamics. He had real concerns about his family and estate, but he wasn’t reaching out for his decumulation plan.
It’s always irritating to hear stories like this where someone was willing to share their life story and the person on the other side wasn’t willing to listen.

Alleged assassin of Charlie Kirk: I was driven by leftist ideas. I am a progressive. I am a trans activist. My family disagrees with my extreme leftist progressivism. I hate MAGA.
@jimmykimmel: The alleged assassin is MAGA.
Kimmel is an affront to human decency.

Chrystia Freeland didn’t strengthen Canada — she weakened it. She poisoned our relationship with the U.S., destroyed trust with China, and left Canadian farmers paying the price.
People forget that, but I don’t. I’ve been calling this out for years, and now the damage is clear. She took Canada to its knees, and it’s going to take real leadership to fix it.

It's confirmed. I'll be appearing next Wednesday at The House of Commons’ Standing Committee on Science and Research to offer my expert testimony regarding how to evaluate research/academic excellence.
Hint: I'll be discussing whether diversity, inclusion, and equity should be a relevant criterion...

- Vignettes : 50 $ par an maximum.

Tim Hortons in Courtenay is claiming they can't find a Canadian, either from the area or already working at one of their restaurants, to work for $36.60/hr and need to hire a Temporary Foreign Worker instead.
I call BS.
We have the highest youth unemployment since the 1990s.
Time for companies here in Canada to step up and hire Canadians first! 🇨🇦

Europe is full of parasites, criminals and rapists.

The usual suspect in Zurich tries to rob a defenseless woman and then beats her. No woman is safe in Europe. EU politicians are responsible for this disaster.

Tax loss harvesting: Canada vs the US.
1. Canada has a loss carryback of three years (so losses realized this year can be used against gains in the prior three years).
2. Canada has cross account rules that can result in the permanent denial of losses.

A compelling chart for silver.
The outperformance of hard assets over financial assets is, in my view, one of the most significant macro trends unfolding today.
While we’ve seen similar shifts in the past, years of prolonged underperformance have conditioned investors to dismiss the possibility of a sustained reversal.
I take the opposite view.
As Mark Twain famously said:
“History doesn’t repeat itself, but it often rhymes.”
By the end of this decade, I believe traditional portfolios will likely hold a meaningfully larger allocation to hard assets than they do today.
