@aggr0h When I get the sense that someone has decided ahead of time and is just trying to look like they've "won" I just dip out. You're under no obligation to debate with asshats. In my opinion, leaving and doing literally anything else feels like philosophically styling on them

@aggr0h It's simultaneously depressing and freeing realizing that a lot of "discourse" is about social victories. It makes it easier to walk away from bad-faith or pointless discussions, while taking the time to talk with those that engage in good faith or are just trying to understand

Speaking as someone that was a mod and later admin for that server (though this was in the later years) the main leadership of that server was a mess. Choosing to quit was %100 the right call and I regret not leaving sooner.

@aggr0h For me personally, a dead giveaway that someone's not just going through a hard time is if they're unwilling to listen to any points you have to bring up about the thing they're crapping on. They don't give a shit about the reality of the situation, only shooting you down

@aggr0h Facts. It's fine and even understandable to be personally depressed and pessimistic, but those that deliberately inflict that feeling on others just to feel like they have a "leg up" deserve nothing more than to stew in their own failure.
