For a stretch, UFC London was always competing for card/crowd of the year. The territory was red hot just a few years ago, and now, to see the state of the card — the lack of depth, the lack of names, the booing, the footage of people leaving, the empty seats — it’s telling.
The gate and all that stuff, you won’t feel it today, but you’re going to feel it in 2–3 years. The decline is apparent, and unless there’s a course correction, there will definitely be repercussions.

@ALLIDOISUFC That's not to say Josh isn't special, though you have Volk turning 38 this year, Tim Elliott at 39 fighting at flyweight, etc. So let's just accept that the UFC did not, in fact, pass on those big names because they're focused on some sort of youth movement.

@ALLIDOISUFC I mentioned him in an age comparison against claims the UFC passed on Rousey/Carano, Diaz etc. because they're focused on younger fighters. That's demonstrably wrong when they made an offer to the first two and were pursuing the third. Not to mention Francis being a heavyweight.

You mentioned Josh Emmett, in an age comparison. Josh can compete at 41 years old due to his activity. It keeps him competitive. Up to date with the latest methods. There are exceptions to every rule, but the rule is still the rule, josh is the exception.

@ALLIDOISUFC That's fine too, if that's their business model. But let's not pretend they didn't want the Ronda fight because she's too old. UFC offered her the best deal she'd ever had based on PPV points. When PPV went away, they lost interest. From their perspective, why risk guaranteed $?
