Bang on from Jake. These are the conversations I've been having for a year+. Covid showed the need for change briefly looked like it would. We returned to the pre status quo in a post society! There's no properly resourced effort for solutions, just a make it work clinging on.

I'm not against a 6.30 start. What I am against is 3hr long theatre shows being standard. Make them shorter. If you can't say it in -2hrs of script, then you're either doing it wrong or making an anthology. Rare exceptions can push the rule. And their names aren't David Hare.

Can the 'why didn't she report it to the Police' brigade please sit down and stfu.
67,169 rapes were reported to the police last year, but just 1,276 were charged.
Eve. when a case is progressed, women often experience secondary abuse through victim blaming investigations and hostile trials.
With a 1% conviction rate, Rape is all but legal in the UK and we have a misogynistic force - known for harbouring rapists and losing evidence - investigating allegations.
A more apt question might be: Why would she report it?

The Road is one of the greatest novels, not because of the story or what happens. It's an ultimate lesson in creative writing. The skill to describe that landscape repeatedly, on almost every page and make it different. Both never the same but always the same. #CorrmacMcCarthy
