Fifth graders are practicing their partner reading AND sticky noting a text to prepare for tomorrow’s discussion.

Today we were wondering at the energy or particles. We added food coloring to three different jars at different temperatures to see how quickly the color spread.

Fifth grade is simulating the changes in states of matter. They are trying to determine what is happening to the particles as matter changes states.

Fifth graders are coding their rovers to traverse the surface of “Mars”! They have tasks to complete at each checkpoint before returning to the start position.

Fifth graders spent a week creating a game based on their book group reading. Some students did card games while others did board games.

Students in 5C are pulling apart poems to use as inspiration for their own writing! Hooray for teamwork!

We are researching Mars and what it takes to be prepared for a manned mission to another planet.

We are shaking things up here in fifth grade while students act as engineers trying to build earthquake resistant building that will survive our shake tables.
