Two of CPM's season concerts feature late Beethoven string quartets. The Isidore SQ will perform Op. 127 on Apr. 13, and the Doric SQ will play Op. 131 on May 5 & 6. How many of Beethoven’s 16 string quartets did he compose in his final “late string quartet” period in 1825-26?

Answer: Hertz Trio. Talmon Hertz, Calgary Pro Musica’s Founder and Artistic Director Emeritus, was the group’s cellist; his sister Yaëla Hertz played violin and Dale Bartlett played piano.
