2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. I still periodically feel the craving of my flesh. I go through seasons of desiring a boyfriend. When I don’t guard my heart, I develop crushes on men. But my identity is found in Christ. He has forgiven me of my sin and empowers me to live my life with victory over my sexual urges. I repented and gave Him my heart, and He has blessed me incredibly. I have a wife who patiently loves me in spite of my past failures and current struggles. I am the father of a daughter who miraculously survived her high-risk pregnancy and premature birth. It is not a guarantee that all who deny their flesh to follow Christ will be blessed in the same way, but it is guaranteed God will bless His children. Friend, God’s will for your life is greater than anything your flesh desires.

In Oregon, all water is publicly owned. Rain that falls on your property. Snow that melts on your land. Gary Harrington didn’t accept that. He built three reservoirs on his 170-acre property in Eagle Point — collecting rainwater and snowmelt for personal use and wildfire protection. The state told him to drain the reservoirs. He refused. 30 days in jail. Nine misdemeanor convictions. $1,500 fine. His argument: it’s rain that fell on my land. Oregon’s argument: all water belongs to us. Oregon won.
