Sunday will be my last day competing in Apex for the foreseeable future. My mental health hasn't been worse in the past 3 years and I just desperately need a break. Competing has been my life for the past 5 years and I'm sure I'll miss it, but right now I need to take a step back recollect myself and move forward. The Competitive viewer base has done a number on making my mental worse, turned my chat into a toxic place and i'm sure has pushed some of my core viewers away. I know i've been a comp player for a long time and am known so its expected to get hate here and there, but it's been over the top lately and I feel many of you forget that I'm human just like you and while results may not be showing as of late, I am trying my best. I will be continuing to stream Apex and stream in general, I want to go back to just playing games and having fun which is something I feel I've lost somewhere along the way. I want to start being more involved with my community, doing sub/viewer clip ratings, maybe some on stream coaching again and possibly host some tournaments for you guys. Idk what the future will hold for me, but i'm ready to find out together with you guys. Much love guys ✌️ PS. Vtuber arc begins in June/July

TL;DR: I’m not complaining btw I’m doing my best to get better on a daily basis. ImperialHal’s career and future hinged on that decision. In his eyes, the choice was “switch to controller and continue my comp career, or don’t switch and quit apex comp in the near future”. He felt that if he wanted to continue his pro career, he did not have a choice in the matter regardless of the fact that he was one of the best MnK players in the world. Now let’s bring it back down to the normal level. Regular gamers who aren’t competing for millions of dollars every year, from ultra casuals to sweats like me. Why exactly do you think it is good, ok, competitive, or even at the very least, enjoyable for an entire group of people to feel like their starting line is further back than others just because they are playing using the input they enjoy most? Why should they have to play an input they don’t enjoy? “Just adapt” is absolutely a good point when you’re talking about gun metas and character metas, but not when we’re talking about what input method people play on. That should be 100% preference. But this game has gotten to a point where MnK is genuinely becoming outdated in the competitive scene, and those effects ripple throughout the entire playerbase. The best player in the world shouldn’t have had to feel like he had to play an input that he admitted to disliking and finding boring to keep his career, and normal players shouldn’t have to feel like playing the game is harder or like they should play a different game just because they’re using what they have the most fun using.
