@spotted_model @BrevilleUSA Yeah, Breville or Crate & Barrel should really take care of the issue. When we had issues with our previous Oracle, Williams Sonoma provided a new unit (after Breville wouldn’t respond within the warranty period)

Update on the @BrevilleUSA Oracle that went into overheat constantly after 9 months of ownership then stopped working. Breville reacted quickly and sent us a container to ship it back. We sent it in and it was returned yesterday after 2 weeks. We were so happy to get it back but immediately noticed that the top plastic piece and stainless were damaged on the front and sides (see pic) as if somebody pried it open with a screwdriver all the way around instead of from the back piece. We want to live with it but just can’t justify a $2500 machine looking like this. This thing is 10x the price of a high-end coffee maker. At this point I really can’t reco Breville based on its service work. Beware! Back to the Keurig now til we figure next steps 😢

Out of curiosity, I looked at what beginner guides said for espresso. I found many were overly complicated, which inspired me to make a simplified guide with four basic variables. WDT in the cup or the basket for espresso? Does WDT merely reduce clumps or does it do something else in the basket?

I bought the Wafo Soe Spirit espresso basket as soon as I could because it offers the chance at better espresso brewing. Does the design improve extraction and taste? Yes, but keep in mind that it costs 10x the price of a regular precision basket. rmckeon.medium.com/wafo-soe-spiri…

One of my favorite coffees to pull as espresso is Panama naturals - so I couldn’t pass up this Bambito Estate Red Bourbon from @thedoubleshot. Sweet cherry, vanilla bean, marzipan, and jasmine florals.
