Alabama has the sixth most SEC wins over the last three years and its 72 wins since 2023 are the second most in a three-year span in program history.
That kind of success without improved support from fans… yeah, I could see why Curry may have wanted out.

Alabama women's basketball had the third-lowest SEC average home attendance (2,950 per game) this season ahead of only Florida and Georgia.

From what I can tell, Byrne's only other women's basketball hire as an AD came at Arizona in 2016, hiring Adia Barnes—a former player who led the Wildcats to their first ever Final Four and national title game appearance in 2021.

I understand Curry has been there for 13 seasons and if this move happens because Alabama expects more, that’s one thing.
But if Curry is choosing to go to an American Conference program over Alabama, there’s clearly some issues behind the scenes.
