Exactly correct. This is what I mean by "pulse testing", the US just exceeded the threshold of the current motions of war twice. Once with the landing (an invasion of Iran), and once again with the destruction of the very facility Iran protected with a ceasefire with Qatar.

Closing the red sea is meaningless now. The US is "sending Iran back to the stone age". The escalation ladder's scope is now well beyond closure of waterways, it is now permanent and complete destruction of infrastructure. If Iran prepared for 40 years and can't do this, the war is over. It should surrender immediately.

Yeah that's not going to work. Think about it this way. How much more damage can a 500kg warhead do compared to a 1ton warhead? In terms of range not as much as you think since mass to energy is volumetric and blast radius works in terms of area. Right? So there's diminishing returns with yield. Yet to deliver that much payload, the cost per missile increases quadratically. So the cost/range increases quadratically also. The only way to get more range is to go to nuclear weapons. Why? Because these will have ~50-250kg depending on the type of nuclear warhead. You can even cheap out on the missile. If you use a Thorium cycle (thus U-233) the warhead can be around the same cost as a conventionally equivalent one if you consider the delivery vehicle cost. There's literally no other way to wage war in the modern era and this is the best kept secret of this world. Industries output so much material that you cannot cause more damage than can be repaired without blowing out your conventional strike costs. The only way around this is through conventional carpet bombings, since gravity bombs are basically free but Iran doesn't have access to that kind of technology thanks to Russia and China (and besides even if it did it would quickly get overwhelmed by the USAF which is 10x bigger than any other air force in the region). It was nukes or bust from the start.

This may sound extreme, but I know exactly how Americans think. I lived, worked and dealt with them my entire life: I listened to the Iranian liberal regime's FM spokesperson. They're making "demands". This is a sign of immense weakness. As long as they're allowed to communicate to the US, it's going to give the US information. The US just needs to smell weakness and this is all that is needed to get the signed forms and authorisation for massive attacks on Iran. Iranians do not seem to appreciate the Amerimutt psychology. They still think Americans are regular human beings. This is false. If you show a sign of weakness, you will be destroyed whether in business, sports, politics, whatever endeavour. America is all about dog eat dog. By simply COMMUNICATING with America, Iran is harming itself more than it can imagine.

If it doesn't happen what the US and Israel will do is the following: Expand target and tempo. Start making use of nuclear weapons covertly, destroying hardened sites. Accelerate assassinations. Pull off more cross border attacks. Iran will be eaten alive from all sides as other countries begin to lose 'fear' of its retaliatory capabilities. If Iran does not fulfil its promises, it will be destroyed from North to South, East to West. This war will be over sooner than you can imagine.

It gives me no pleasure to write this but Iran is on the edge of completely losing the initiative and a return to an intense death spiral due to its delay in promised attacks. The attack on Pars field and the latest attack on the additional refineries have crippled its ability to make good use of the Hormuz. The next hours and days to come will determine its fate. If it fails to carry out its promised retaliation, this is the end of the war and, unfortunately, Iran.
