@MollyBAtkinson You never will. You cannot possibly clear your to do list ubless you scale back. The national center for faculty development and diversity has lots of skills to help you prioritize and say no (or at least set boundaries on when you can say yes).

Dear Assistant Professors: How are y’all getting everything done that you are expected to complete within a 5-day work week? Because I’ve honestly been working 7 days a week for as long as I can remember, and I still can’t get everything done. And I’m about to ~lose~ it.

My 4-year-old doesn't understand why he is being asked to be somewhere unsafe. As a policy scholar, my answers related to political complexity, constitutional freedoms, and lobbying are simply not satisfying his basic needs for physical safety. 3/4

Today is the start of my 4-year olds second week of preschool. Friday, he told me all about the 'bad guy' drill they practiced. Today he was terrified to get out of the car. He was scared I wouldn't get to see him again because of the 'bad guys' at school. 1/4
