So long as we are not hagiographic, it is good to have good heroes. The Bible gives us heroes of the faith as models to emulate while acknowledging their failings. The progressive trick is to pretend that ANY human failures make these individuals unworthy of our admiration. That is a lie meant to discredit the righteousness they stand for. If Elisabeth Elliot was not perfect, you need not be pricked in your conscience by the biblical truth Elliot shared, by the sacrifice her husband made. This is a model that only knows how to tear down what is good. It does not know how to build it. It does not want to build it. It has a different project in mind.
