@scantrellmath Generally I pick the Music that is played in my classroom. When dealing with sixth graders, most of the time you can’t rely on their sense of judgment when it comes to what is appropriate and what isn’t, regardless of their background. #readwhitefolks

@SfBullard When I was in high school, our demographics were 1/3 w, 1/3 b, and 1/3 His. No one really had a majority or minority as far as race was concerned. The only way to overcome that situation was to learn as much about the other groups as possible and get along #readwhitefolks

@SfBullard Using social media is something that I am very leery of. I feel that over exposing kids to social media could be more of a distraction than a tool. If I use any kind of social media, it is more for making announcements for classes. #readwhitefolks

Question: Have you ever implemented different dialects or something considered outlandish in your classroom similar to Code Switching? If so, explain what and how did the students respond?🤠🧐🥳 #readwhitefolks

@scantrellmath Having a cogen may be the easiest strategy to implement in the class. Allowing students to rotate in and out of a “student council “with in the classroom allows for more insight into how the students can be better taught.#readwhitefolks

@Jennife34707388 1 thing I constantly ask students is “are you OK?” Most of the time I am met with common answers of “yeah I’m fine.” But every so often I get anger in their faces, tears running down there eyes, etc. this is when I try to step out in the hall and have a 1on1 #readwhitefolks
