Some very exciting news to announce over the next few days!! We now have 11 locations for the #OneYearLater protests on 11th April including 4 supporting international locations. Whilst details are being finalised...can you guess which locations from the activists in this image?

The Scottish Assisted Dying Bill is one of the most safeguarded in the world. It restricts assisted dying to terminally-ill mentally-competent adults (over 18) with 6 months or less to live. Disabled people and people with mental illness are not eligible unless terminally-ill. Repeated requests must be made and checks are in place for coercion and competence. People must be advised of social and palliative care options and request assisted dying because of their terminal illness. We urge MSPs to vote FOR this Bill. [Photo from stage 1 demonstration]

The six month safeguard is impossible to work and would soon revert to open access to anyone in the last few years of life. Another failed "safeguard" like promises on coercion and dignity, and better palliative care.

How MSPs from different parties voted at Stage 1 of the Assisted Dying Bill. (All 8 Green MSPs voted for the bill, the 2 independents voted against, SNP MSP Neil Gray - the Health Secretary - abstained and the Presiding Officer did not vote.) bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

INDEPENDENT ADVOCACY: "The Scottish Government has significant concerns with the breath of the independent advocacy service...no provider is currently equipped to deliver this...would need to be set up specifically with start up costs...[which] have not been accoounted for]

As a GP and MSP, I believe that the assisted dying bill offers a safe, compassionate choice for those whose pain cannot be relieved. My article in @heraldscotland explains why. heraldscotland.com/politics/holyr…

Watching @DarcyWAHF manage to skewer Nicoliar Sturgeon after suffering through her hypocritical drivel on International Women's Day made it all worthwhile. Perfect! #SWCIWD26 #InternationalWomensDay
