Yesterday I was discussing with a colleague whether I should have “Dr” as part of my name on LinkedIn. I do this on Twitter but not on other platforms….
I wonder what your thoughts are?

Finally submitted my PhD Thesis for examination 🥳🥳🥳. 3 years and 8 months of hardwork and sleepless nights, reduced to a 252 page pdf. One step closer to being #PHDone.
What do you do after submission? Rest? holiday? Coz it feels weird being this free 😁

@CallistusAkello@PhDspeaks@PhDVoice Congratulations! I know what you mean. It's a strange feeling! I submitted a few weeks ago. Had a short break, now focussing on teaching and viva prep.

My first in-person conference presenting my PhD research on Overheating Mitigation and Thermal Comfort in UK homes at the 2023 @theUKIEG conference @STEAMhouseUK. Very interesting discussions and presentations from experts in indoor environmental quality #BCU#phdlife#phdchat
@notquitecezanne@PhDVoice@PhDfriendSana Very interesting...really looking forward to it as well.... mine is still in the primary stages with a broader focus on cost effective solutions
@CallistusAkello@PhDVoice@PhDfriendSana You are welcome. I am looking forward to seeing some of the results regarding overheating from your research. I am currently doing a systematic review on the effects of insulation measures on overheating. Do you have anything interesting on this?
When you have to hold down the mouse button, for almost 10 straight minutes, to select around 230,000 Excel dataset entries. Then repeat for 12 data files 🥱 The most boring part of quantitative data analysis.☹️ Any suggestions on how to make it faster? @PhDVoice@PhDfriendSana
@CallistusAkello@PhDVoice@PhDfriendSana These were the sorts of issues I was having dealing with time series data in Excel and what prompted me to learn how to do it in R. It was difficult at first, but well worth the effort as you build up your own library of code to reproduce analysis.
@CallistusAkello@PhDVoice@PhDfriendSana Either use the A1:A230000 or build an "IF A1:A230000, X" code. Always try to avoid manual selection as it's just too sensitive to human error
@CallistusAkello@PhDVoice@PhDfriendSana Do you have to select all the data in an entire column? There is a command to make it easier: ctrl+shift + down arrow. You are welcome!
A two-year-old boy's death was caused by "extensive" mould in his family's flat, a coroner has concluded in a case that should be "a defining moment" for the housing sector.
