@hershpat@Bushra1Shaikh And no not just cos the media reported it that way.
No offense but you seem kinda old so I don't expect you to understand what gangs are really like these days, but it's known that gang members use carnival as a way to catch opps.
There is another BLM protest happening in Peckham tomorrow. And the police are expecting a large crowd. While I am in full support in the freedom of peaceful protests, I implore those who are thinking of attending to really reconsider. You will be endorsing the unjust ultimate closure of a man's livelihood and those he enploys. Ask yourself- what do you want from this?
If it is 'justice' for a crime, then let the police investigate. This really isn't the fight you've been brainwashed to believe. Peace.
@hershpat@Bushra1Shaikh Because Carni takes place in open streets, which means no real security searching people, you can just come and go as you please, is 100% free to attend and is attended by people from all over the UK so it's basically the perfect place for GMs to catch their paigons.
@hershpat@Bushra1Shaikh The overall crime rate at other events is higher yes however The rate of things like Stabbings is higher at Carni than other similar events.
I don't even remember the last time 8 people were stabbed at an event that wasn't Carnival.
@fckurdesires@Bushra1Shaikh I hear that.
I could have worded the comment better as I didn't mean all black people. I know there are loads of people out there actively trying to tackle some of these issues & make their community a better place.
@MrReddFox_@Bushra1Shaikh Literally this protest is a prime example.
The woman tried stealing stuff and then attacked him with a basket yet people are protesting trying to get his shop shut down instead of acknowledging the events that led him to do what he did in the first place.
@MrReddFox_@Bushra1Shaikh I have actually thanks. I know loads of black people, some of them family members and a lot of them agree with me that people in the community struggle to take accountability for things.
@hershpat@Bushra1Shaikh Okay, however the rate of violent crime at Carnival is still higher than other similar events and it keeps rising.
8 stabbings, 70+ knives & 2 guns confiscated this year alone.
Please explain to me how that's okay
@jdubzzArtist@Bushra1Shaikh Instead of just holding their hands up and admitting something needs to change.
It's not just me either, I've seen countless black people also talk about how people in the community fail to take accountability for things.
@jdubzzArtist@Bushra1Shaikh Also was just a blanket statement tbh, obviously it's not all black people.
I'm just saying though, any time someone tries to speak about issues in the community, all I see are people trying to deflect and change the subject.
@jdubzzArtist@Bushra1Shaikh Literally just this year alone 8 stabbings, 70+ knives & 2 guns confiscated and you really wanna tell me nothing has to change?
@CallzzAFC@latheos@Bushra1Shaikh I think what he did was wrong. He even denied choking her, apparently it just looked like he did. I haven't heard from the woman, so I have no idea what happened. If she did wrong then the courts will step in, as it should.
@Janey3477@latheos@Bushra1Shaikh Yeah I'm not saying I agree with the force he used however everyone's acting like he's just attacked her completely unprovoked which isnt true.
@Janey3477@latheos@Bushra1Shaikh Did I say they weren't?
However protesting and potentially causing a person to lose their entire livelihood all for protecting his business is wrong.
The double standards in football when it comes to Man United are a different level. Pep literally called Kalvin Phillips overweight and no one said anything? Also got rid of one of the best fullbacks in Europe and no one batted an eyelid?
