A humble but professional and competitive runner. Raphael has connected me to a chain of runners who participated in the Uganda Wildlife Half Marathon through me. Calsaar Cultural Initiative participated in the 8th edition of the Uganda Wildlife Half Marathon. We preserve heritage—including the wild places that define us. Today we ran for fallen rangers' children, proving culture and conservation are inseparable. #UWHM2026

Following our?#CultureAndHeritageMarathon2025, we will be collecting & archiving indigenous knowledge, oral traditions, & folklore from the Teso Region, Soroti District where a needs assessment has been conducted. To be seen & acknowledged is basic dignity. These groups need it.

According to @CCFU_NGO, some indigenous communities like the Benet, Bakingwe, Bagabo & Maragoli are excluded from the national list of ethnicities, @NIRA_Ug & @UgandaEC databases, making them ineligible for certain legal rights & services like acquiring national IDs or voting.

Calsaar Cultural Initiative is proud take part in the #UWHM2026 — standing in solidarity with the families of fallen rangers and running to educate their children. Through culture, community, and compassion, we move forward together.
