Some will say Scottie, who’s had a brilliant year but the Grand Slam plus multiple other wins in big events does the job. It’s a shame he’s not won today, that would make it more clear but he is Player of the Year.

Matt Fitzpatrick pars the first playoff hole after rounds of 69, 69, 66 and 66 to win the DP World Tour Championship over Rory McIlroy. It’s Matt’s 11th worldwide win and his first since 2023. He said after the win: “It means the world. I mean, I struggled at the start of year obviously and to turn it around in the summer like I did and to have the Ryder cup like I did. You know, the Ryder cup in particular, it’s hard to top. But the way I played today, I’m just so proud of myself and the effort everyone puts in behind the scenes. What a feeling.
