Gloucester Township Police was honored to partner up and organize this GTPD vs GTFD- Cops Vs Firefighters hockey game with Gloucester Township Fire Districts 2 and 4 and the National Ball Hockey League for the @CamCoHero Camden County Hero Scholarship Fund! 🏒🚓🚒😃

Ice water rescue crews located Firefighter Bennett approximately 30 minutes later, and transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Firefighter Bennett was 61, 27-year department veteran of the Camden City Fire Department, and leaves behind a wife and two children.

Firefighter Bennett was attempting to board a fire boat at the Wiggins Park Marina for a routine maintenance check when he fell into the ice covered Delaware River.

The Camden County Hero Scholarship Fund mourns the loss of Firefighter Howard Bennett, from the Camden City Fire Department, who made the ultimate sacrifice on February 5, 2026.

The Camden County Hero Scholarship Fund are deeply saddened by the reported loss of a NYPD Police Officer and reported four civilians who were killed by an active shooter at approximately 6:30 tonight in Midtown Manhattan. ⬛️🟦⬛️

Between July 2nd and July 5th, we'll be honoring 8 heroes- three murdered Camden City Police Officers, two Firefighters who suffered fatal heart attacks, and three Firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice while attempting to save trapped children in a burning home 🙏

As we enter the month of July, we enter the month with the largest loss of Camden County Heroes (13)- especially within the first few days. 😞

The Camden County Hero Scholarship Fund remembers Trooper Sean Cullen, from the New Jersey State Police, Bellmawr Station, who made the ultimate sacrifice on March 8, 2016.

The Camden County Hero Scholarship Fund remembers two heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice on this day, March 7- Ptl. Richard Dawson, from the Pennsauken Township Police Department in 1999 and Firefighter George Jackson, from the Camden City Fire Department in 2006.

Patrolman Blackburn was struck by a hit-and-run driver as he walked his beat at the intersection of Cumberland and Atlantic Streets. He succumbed to internal injuries eight days later. Patrolman Blackburn, who was 75 years old, had served as a Patrolman for 34 years.
