The doors to the venue open only at 7:00pm with the talk starting at 7:30pm. The speaker and committee members need a short period of time before 7:00pm by themselves to set up the meeting so it would be appreciated if visitors could wait until 7:00 pm before entering the hall.

This talk examines photos taken by serving British soldiers during the WW1, along with a discussion around how these images reached the British press, the military authorities attitude to soldiers with cameras and how this amateur work sits with that of official photographers.

It was a pleasure to be asked to speak to a packed room at the Peterborough Remembers The Old Contemptibles exhibition at @PboroMuseum yesterday. I spoke about ‘A Contemptible Three Months; 22nd August - 22nd November 1914’, telling the story of the Retreat from Mons. The team from @CambsWFA have done a superb job with the organisation and research. The exhibition runs until 27th November. Do get along if you can: peterboroughmuseum.org.uk/events/peterbo…
