🗣️ “Oh it’s just coursing… haven’t you got worse crimes to deal with…” Today we’ve seen hares / deer pursued & ripped apart, farmers crops destroyed beyond use, land owners gates rammed, dangerous driving, & a family having abuse shouted at them by grown males 🤯 We caught most, but unfortunately not all - 10x males detained & processed, 2x vehicles seized, & dogs in kennels 🚔 A big thanks to members of @CambsWatch who were our eyes & ears today 💪🏽 #RCAT

999 report of hare coursing near Soham 📲 RCAT arrive at the location 🚔 Police see males coursing in a field 🐇 🐕 Police give chase & detain all 👮🏽‍♂️ Dogs seized & taken to Police kennels 💪🏽 All interviewed, issued with CPWs / CPNs & dispersed from the county 👋🏼 Court file submitted including asking for kennel cost & forfeiture of the dogs ⚖️ #RCAT

Did you know that we deal with more than just hare coursing? 👮🏽‍♂️🐇 The team Police #agricultural #environmental #heritage #hunting & #wildlife crime, & take on #ruralroadsafety alongside other taskings like drones 🚜 🚮 🏰 🦊 🦇 🚓 🚁 Since April this year the team, of only 10, who cover the whole of Cambridgeshire have… ✅ attended & investigated 947 incidents & investigations ✅ conducted multiple joint operations with all 6 local councils, @EnvAgency, @DVSAEnforcement, @DVLAgovuk, @HMRCgovuk, @NCATT_UKPolice and even @INTERPOL_HQ ✅ seized 97 items either used in crime or stolen - most recently a farmers £72k JCB telehandler ✅ partnered with the likes of @nfueast, @CLAEast and @CambsWatch to make rural Cambridgeshire safer ✅ arrested & prosecuted 56 offenders & deprived them of their criminal gains ✅ flown 195 drone missions - searching for missing and wanted people, and supported operations like firearm warrants #RCAT

We are investigating the theft of a sheep & its lamb from a farm in Impington, Cambridge 🐑 Sheep & lamb were stolen between 9am (03/04) & 7am (04/04). Both had a blue '6' sprayed on each side. The sheep had an ear ID tag. Any info, report to @CambsCops, 35/23392/24 refers.

Long walk back to Doncaster for these Hare Coursers caught in Thorney today by the Rural Crime Action Team. Offenders dealt with, cars and equipment seized. #RCAT

A mixed bag for the team today 😵‍💫 Some of the team were at Gransden Show with @CambsWatch 🎪 One of the team was doing a @theposh duty ⚽️ And the rest of the team spent most of day out and about in the east side of the county 🚜 Ready to go again at 7am tomorrow 😴 #RCAT
