When your feet are light (quick and reactive), you can transfer energy faster through your body into the ball.
Heavy steps = slow energy buildup
Light steps = quick whip-like motion
Think of it like a sprinter vs. someone stomping. Speed comes from quick ground contact, not heavy force into the ground.
