A difficult film to watch, but an essential one. Essential to understand the victims’ long struggle to achieve official recognition of the harm they suffered, and the apology issued to them by the Government of Canada in 2017.

🌈Yesterday, as part of #IDAHOBIT, we screened at the #CanadianCulturalCentre the documentary “La Purge” by 🇨🇦 director Orlando Arriagada. Bullying, humiliation, dismissals: thousands of 2SLGBTQI+ people in the 🇨🇦 public service endured violence for nearly 50 years, until 1996.
