Should temporary immigrants pay a healthcare fee to support the healthcare system? British Columbia's MLA Tara Armstrong: "I'm introducing the New Resident Health Cost Recovert Act 2025. This Bill requires new residents who are not yet Canadian citizens or permanent residents to pay an annual health registration fee of $7500..." I support it and called for it before and will take it a step further; all employers bringing in TFW/LMIAs should have such a fee for minimum the first year and as part of their application. It will help cut down on scams and taxpayers shouldn't be subsidizing cheap foreign labour for businesses.
